Urban Life exists for the wellbeing of the community. We are a community responding to the needs of each other and the neighbourhoods we exist in. Many of our programs and efforts happen as organic responses to the needs that arise around us. We also run regular programs and connect with other socially minded groups to support and love others where we can.

Winter Shelter
Winter Shelter is a Maroondah Church and Community response to local homelessness. It is the mission of Winter Shelter to provide shelter, food, and dignity for people who need resources, comfort, and support. Winter Shelter works together with local Christian churches to provide the best support to those without shelter in Maroondah. Urban Life contributes by recruiting volunteers and finances, and offering the use of our building on a Sunday night throughout winter. This is a program that relies heavily on volunteers, please go to the Winter Shelter website if you are interested in getting involved.

Chistmas Hamper Night
Each Christmas, Urban Life offers the community an opportunity to make their own hamper. This is an evening where our guests can stock up for Christmas; donated gifts, toys, food, and so much more is given away.
This night is full of laughter, pizza, and plenty of goodies to leave with. It is because of the generosity of those in the community that we are able to bless so many.
If you would like to come, volunteer to help with the big set up or be present at the event or would like to donate any christmas goodies please get in contact with Jay Sawyer.

Christmas Lunch
We all need someone at Christmas, and it's our privilege to provide a space for 90 guests each Christmas day. This meal is cooked and prepared for us by Bocca Family Restaurant, and only happens because of this wonderful generosity and volunteers who join with us on the day.
To have Urban Life full of people from our community enjoying good food, laughing, and simply doing Christmas together is a wonderful experience.

Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP)
The CRISP allows groups of everyday Australians to welcome refugees into their local community and help them from ‘day one’ of their Australian journey.
A group of community members connected to Urban Life have formed a Community Supporter Group and are working hard to gather the resources needed to support a family of refugees. They have sourced a home in Ringwood, are organising working bees to get this home comfortable, as well as raising funds and figuring out how they may be able to help this family get a bank account, enrol children in a local school, find jobs, learn English and all the other things a family entering a new and unknown community might need.
Urban Life continues to raise funds for this project so please see the below information if you are able to donate financially or click the button below to get involved.
